The sessions last around 1.5 hours, during full daylight hours for natural light. You will receive all of the high resolution photos from the shoot, with a minimum of 30 guaranteed via a private online gallery. Options to download or purchase prints are available on the platform.don but I travel all over the UK.
Natural light makes all the difference in photography—good light matters more than the background! For baby sessions, I usually work in the brightest bedroom (loft conversions are often ideal), while older children look lovely playing near a window or French doors. When I arrive, I’ll help find the best spot, but feel free to call in advance if you’d like to discuss it.A little tidying up beforehand can make a big impact. I shoot close-up to capture beautiful expressions, and the background will be blurred, so your home doesn’t need to be spotless—but clearing some clutter helps. For baby sessions, a plain duvet cover works well, and small distractions like dressing gowns on doors or alarm clocks on bedside tables are worth tucking away. If we need to make quick adjustments when I arrive, we can do that together—no stress! And don’t worry, I know real homes aren’t always picture-perfect (mine included!). 😊
I completely understand that little ones can be unpredictable—that’s all part of the fun! My approach is relaxed and child-led, meaning there’s no pressure for them to sit still or “perform” for the camera. We’ll take our time, allowing them to warm up naturally, and I’ll work around their mood, whether that means playing, exploring, or taking breaks as needed. Some of the most beautiful, authentic moments happen when children are just being themselves! If you’re worried, I’m happy to share tips before the session to help set the stage for a smooth and enjoyable experience. 😊
For babies up to around 18–24 months, I recommend indoor sessions where the lighting is more controlled, and they can stay cozy without bulky outdoor layers. Once they’re confidently on the move—especially from age three and up—outdoor sessions can be a great choice, offering beautiful natural backdrops and plenty of space to run and play. That said, if you have a lovely, light-filled home, indoor sessions can work beautifully for older children too!
My sessions are relaxed and natural—many clients are surprised by how much they enjoy them! I usually start by photographing the little ones on their own before bringing parents into the frame. The focus is on capturing genuine interactions and joyful moments together. Plus, with the children keeping things lively, even camera-shy parents find the experience easy and enjoyable!
